Aapo Nikkola is currently a Project Advisor at the Futuristic Interactive Technologies (FIT) Research Group, Faculty
of ICT and Industrial Engineering, Turku University of Applied Sciences, Finland. He is also pursuing a master's
degree in information and communication technology. His work focuses on immersive technologies, virtual
environments, technical art, and simulation systems. His research interests include Gaussian Splatting, photorealistic
virtual environment reconstruction, 3D computer graphics, and AI-assisted workflows for rapid generation of virtual
training and simulation environments.
