Dr. Alhassan Yasin
Dr. Alhassan S. Yasin is a Professor and Senior Scientist at Johns Hopkins University and CEO of Yasin Science & Technology (YST) and Carol (Care For All). His research spans physics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, quantum computing, hypersonics and advanced engineering. He focuses on new approaches to system design and analysis in contested and complex environments, with particular emphasis on digital twins, operations research, and modelling and simulation. Dr. Yasin has led population modelling and resilience analysis efforts, including disaster response modelling. He applies physics-based and agentic AI frameworks to predict, simulate and optimize the behavior of critical systems across energy networks, infrastructure and distributed operational environments. At Johns Hopkins, he chairs the biotechnology, bioinformatics and research focus areas. He also serves as Lead and Deputy for NASA's Space Digital Ecosystems and Autonomy efforts, where he has helped convene the community workshops on digital twins for cislunar and lunar surface operations. He collaborates closely with DARPA, AFRL and NRL, and has represented NATO in intergovernmental work on the ethical development of AI-enabled systems. Much of his work centers on moving advanced technologies from research into operational use, including hypersonics, autonomous systems and distributed, edge-deployed decision support.
