Brad Spearing graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1982 and began a journey that gave him years of experience developing and improving government-owned computer simulations. By 1989, he realized a commercial company had a better chance of creating more capable simulations without government sponsorship, so he founded Ternion with two engineering colleagues. Since then, he has served as Ternion's president and chief architect of its commercial software products, including its flagship family of products, the FLAMES® Simulation Framework.
