Joann Robertson is a senior defence, logistics and transformation leader with more than 25 years’ experience spanning the public and private sectors. She has recently joined StaplesVR as Global Defence Engagement Director, bringing extensive experience of working across the UK Defence enterprise, defence industry and complex international supply chains.

Joann spent more than 15 years within the UK Ministry of Defence, beginning at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) before progressing through roles across Army Command and Navy Command encompassing analysis, technology, programme management, military capability, logistics, leadership and transformation. She ultimately served as Head of Logistics Support for the Royal Navy, with responsibility for major logistics and support capabilities critical to operational readiness.

Following her public-sector career, Joann joined Babcock International Group as Head of Supply Chain Transformation, working within the complex defence and submarine support environment at Devonport. Her work has focused on operational transformation, supply-chain resilience and strengthening collaboration between Defence, industry and the wider support enterprise.

Alongside her executive career, Joann has held a Board Director and Trustee position with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport UK and has been actively involved in advancing professional practice across defence logistics and supply-chain resilience. She is a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and has been recognised with a Chief of Defence Logistics & Support Commendation for her contribution to the Defence Support Enterprise.

Her career has been defined by bringing together people, technology and organisations to solve complex operational problems.
