Matthew Ash is a Training Capability Manager and workforce transformation specialist with extensive experience in engineering, technical training, and operational excellence within the defence sector. He leads the development and implementation of innovative learning solutions that improve workforce readiness, technical competence, and operational performance.

As the architect of the Learning in the Flow of Work (LITFLOW) programme, Matthew is driving a shift away from traditional classroom-based training towards a more adaptive, workplace-integrated approach. By combining adaptive learning technologies, practical skills development, and digital performance support, he is helping organisations develop technicians faster, reduce time away from productive work, and improve the return on training investment.

With a background in engineering management and over a two decades of leadership experience, Matthew has worked extensively within and with Ministry of Defence customers, technical specialists, commercial teams, and senior business leaders to design and deliver capability solutions that address skills shortages, workforce attrition, and changing operational requirements.

His work focuses on ensuring that learning is not treated as an isolated activity, but as an integrated part of daily operations, enabling organisations to build sustainable capability while improving efficiency, resilience, and readiness.
