Mr. Michael T. Powell is the Deputy Project Manager Training Devices (DPM TRADE) for the U.S. Army Capability Portfolio Executive for Simulation, Training, Test and Threats (CPE ST3) in Orlando, FL. In this role, he advises the Project Manager TRADE and leads the staff in managing both personnel and resources. Previously, Mr. Powell served as the Product Manager for Live Training Systems, also within PM TRADE. There, he was responsible for leading a diverse team in managing the cost, schedule, performance and risk for one of CPE STS’3 highest-priority programs: the Synthetic Training Environment, Live Training Systems. His prior positions also include Product Director for Constructive Simulation Support, several key staff roles within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)), and multiple leadership positions within Program Executive Office (PEO) Combat Support & Combat Service Support and PEO Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors.

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and His Master of Science degree from Central Michigan University. Additionally, he holds advanced certification in Program Management.
