Pete Cooper
Pete is a passionate cyber leader that has been at the forefront of tackling some of the most critical and complex cyber challenges at the same time as working hard to mentor and bring forward the next generation of cyber leaders. In his current role as General Manager, EMEA in the Customer Security Management Office, Office of the CISO, Microsoft. Pete leads Microsoft security engagements with some of the most critical organisations across the region.
With a diverse military, private sector and government background he has worked on everything ranging from cyber ops, global cyber security strategies and leading groundbreaking cyber security change. This includes collaborative work across industry, public sector and the global hacker community in founding and leading the Aerospace Village at DEF CON, being the Founder of Cyber 9/12 UK and now the Chair of the Cyber Leaders Challenge.
Previously, as Deputy Director Cyber in Government Security Group within the UK Cabinet Office, Pete also led the transformation of how the UK Government manages its own cyber security and was responsible for the UK Government Cyber Security Strategy as well as leading on all serious and or cross Government Cyber Incidents.
He has a Post Grad in Cyberspace Operations from Cranfield University and was awarded ‘Cyber Citizen of the Year’ at the National Cyber Awards in 2023.
