Poon Ngee was a Superintendent of Police and served in the Singapore Police Force for about 18 years before he ventured to join a start-up in the private sector. He returned to the public service in 2016 to setup the Home Team Simulation System.  He is currently the Deputy Director, Home Team Simulation System at the Centre for Home Team Skills Transformation, Home Team Academy.  

As the Deputy Director, Mr Poon and his team, developed and drove incident management and command post training using simulation technology.  He oversees the operationalization of the simulation system to conduct joint training for the Home Team, mainly the Singapore Police Force, Singapore Civil Defence Force, Immigration and Checkpoint Authority, Singapore Prison Service and Central Narcotics Bureau. He works closely with Home Team Departments to deliver simulation exercises before major events to prepare officers in incident management. The team also focuses on building training simulation capability and training simulation design in the Home Team. 

Among his previous postings, Poon Ngee was the Head Operations and Training for Tanglin Police Division. He had also held various other postings including Commanding Officer of a Neighbourhood Police Centre. He holds a degree in Engineering from the National University of Singapore and a Master in Business Administration from the University of South Australia.
