Dr. Svitlana Volkova, Chief of AI at Aptima Inc., leads development of trustworthy compound AI systems for the Department of War Her research advances machine learning, causal models and multimodal frontier models to explain complex social systems and behaviors. She has led DARPA, IARPA and SOCOM, efforts supporting national security missions, publishing 100+ peer-reviewed papers in AI. Dr. Volkova serves on program committees for premier AI conferences and is active in Women in Machine Learning. She holds a PhD in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
